Knowledge of pharmacovigilance among healthcare professionals and the impact of an educational intervention

Aim. To determine the knowledge regarding various aspects of pharmacovigilance among doctors and nurses a tertiary care teaching hospital to evaluate effect an educational intervention. 
 Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted hospital. The participants attended one-hour session during which concept pharmacovigilance, Pharmacovigilance Program India, need for reporting ADRs, method were explained by subject expert. 20-item questionnaire used assess their before after session. pre-post comparisons done using Wilcoxon’s signed-rank test. p-value less than 0.05 considered statistically significant. Results. Forty-two 115 participated in study. significant improvement participant scores seen following intervention both (Z = −5.344, p < 0.001) −8.808, 0.001). Lack knowledge/awareness perceived as major barrier ADR well doctors. Conclusion. There is education training enhance about drug safety practices. Educational likely improve thereby healthcare professionals.
